The 2006 Student and Faculty Symposium for Research and Scholarship The symposium will be held March 30, 2006 for faculty presentations and march 31, 2006 for student presentations in 171 & 174 Davis College of Business. Faculty Highlight: Historian Focuses on Haiti During 200th Anniversary Year For JU history Professor John Garrigus, 2004 was a busy year on the speakers’ circuit. Garrigus specializes in the history of Caribbean nations and specifically Haiti, which earned independence from France 200 years ago. During the past year of bicentennial celebration, Garrigus participated in conferences as far away as Barbados and Martinique and in a roundtable co-sponsored by Columbia University at the Brooklyn Public Library in New York.
