Board of Governors
Alumni Board of Governors Jacksonville University has over 19,000 alumni living in all 50 states and in 85 foreign countries. Our alumni have established professional careers in a wide variety of industries, services, and organizations around the world. The goal of Jacksonville University’s Alumni Association is to involve JU graduates in the life of the university and to provide mutual benefits and assistance to both the university and its alumni. All students who graduate from Jacksonville University or the former Jacksonville Junior College are members of the Alumni Association. Those who attended the university but did not graduate may apply specially for membership. No membership dues are required. In order to maintain active membership, however, it is important to notify the Office of Alumni & Parent Relations when your address changes. The association is managed by a board of thirty (30) governors that is composed of alumni who represent various university constituencies and geographical areas. All members in good standing are eligible to be considered for appointment to the Board. The Board of Governors acts as an advisory board between the university and the alumni association to promote activities that foster alumni participation and raise money for the university. Committees. The Board of Governors achieves many of its objectives through the work of its committees. The standing committees help with the functioning and continuation of the Board while ad hoc committees offer ample opportunities for non-Board member alumni to volunteer and participate in a variety of ways at Jacksonville University. The ad hoc committees include Activities, Admissions, Communications, Development, and Student Liaison & Career Services.
