We provide a variety of services to help students and alumni succeed in graduate and professional school and in the world of work. These include individual consulting, career workshops, job fairs, a lunch series featuring local employers, special speakers and events, and job and internship postings.

Jacksonville University uses CollegeCentral.com as its official resume and career office management system.

The Fall 2006 Career Fair online registration  is not available.

Career Services at JU offers a variety of programs and services not always available at institutions comparable or even larger in size. 

 

Programs and services consistently available to students include:

  • Online Assessments utilizing the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
  • Individual consultations – by appointment.
  • Speak to classes by request on subjects including assessments and any aspect of career management/planning, and job search.
  • Maintain a library of resources on careers and graduate education.
  • Career/Job Fairs twice a year featuring local and national employers.
  • Student Resume Book produced twice a year in conjunction with the Career/Job Fairs, and provided to employers participating in our events.
  • Annual Non-profit Fair highlighting internship, volunteer and employment opportunities and featuring local and national non-profit agencies
  • Weekly Employer Lunch Series featuring one local employer each week to talk about internship and career opportunities.
  • Job/Internship database, continually updated and available on the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week:  www.collegecentral.com/ju.
  • Career management programming sponsored and produced in partnership with SPLASH – Successful Professional Life and Study Habits –a collaborative effort offering programs and events to develop 21st century life skills, study skills and career management skills.  Some examples include: Assessments, Grad School Prep, Resume Development, Career Fair Prep: First Impressions, Interviewing, Negotiation, Internships, and more.
  • Annual Senior Picnic in partnership with Alumni Relations.

 

Additional programming has included:

  • Dress for Success Fashion Show and/or Professional Image Seminar
  • Annual Etiquette Dinners
  • What Can I Do With My Major? programs featuring alumni panels
  • Life After JU programs to address graduate school and employment opportunities and processes

 

Most programs and services remain available to JU alumni, with the exception of online assessments.
